Cochin Jewish Synagogue
The Cochin Synagogue is the oldest active synagogue in the Commonwealth of Nations, located in Kochi, Kerala, in South India. Constructed in 1567, it is one of seven synagogues of the Malabar Yehudan people or Cochin Jewish community in the Kingdom of Cochin.
It was built by Sephardic or Spanish-speaking Jews, some of them from families exiled in Aleppo, Safed and other West Asian localities. It is also referred to as the Paradesi Jewish Synagogue or the Mattancherry Synagogue.
Daffodils Spice Court is the closest hotel to the Paradesi Synagogue-India's oldest functioning Jewish synagogue and it's just about 100 meters on foot from Daffodils Spice Court.
We had the opportunity to serve the dignitaries from Israel due to the close proximity to the Synagogue which is a real conveinience whislt observing Sabeth.
